General Instructions
- Often degree information is provided to the Order in good faith by
a host council, but for varying reasons the degree must be cancelled. For
this reason, councils should NEVER SEND CANDIDATES TO A DEGREE WITHOUT
FIRST VERIFYING WITH THE HOST COUNCIL DEGREE CONTACT THAT THE DEGRE IS
STILL HAPPENING.
- Also, councils should never send candidates to a degree without
informing the host council of the number of candidates they will be
sending. This is mandatory in allowing the host council to adequately
prepare for the numbers that will potentially materialize.
- New candidates should always be accompanied to the degree by
an existing member in good standing.
- For “First Degree” candidates it is the responsibility of your
council – not the host council to provide rosaries, lapel pins and
“These Men They Call Knights” booklets for the candidates. In this regard,
the existing Brother Knight escort who attends the degree with the
candidates should make sure that an ample supply of same is turned over to
the host council G.K. just before the degree ceremonial commences. If fees
are being charged by the host council, please ensure that all required
monies are issued in the manner outlined.
